Martin is an expert consultant in risk management and decisions under uncertainty who has over the past 20+ years worked with 300+ clients in 30+ countries.

Prior to launching his own consultancy in 2014, Martin was Senior Expert and a global leader of McKinsey’s Global Risk Practice and Corporate Risk Special Initiative, where he worked directly with clients as well as overseeing an in-house modelling team, developing and leading risk training for consultants, and serving as managing editor for McKinsey’s risk white paper series.

Martin continues to work with McKinsey as an external Senior Advisor. He also collaborates with Umbrex and GLG, as well as consulting directly, primarily in the natural resources, industrial, institutional investor, diversified conglomerate and public sectors worldwide.

As well as a consultant and Board advisor, Martin serves as a faculty member for executive education programs with Duke Corporate Education and the Ivey School of Business.

Martin has a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago and experience as a software developer. He is also a musician (clarinettist and singer).

Martin is currently based in Ottawa, Canada. Over the years, he has also resided in Montreal, Chicago, Prague, and Singapore.
