A Chemical Engineer by education and risk leader by experience

Former Group Operational Risk Manager at ArcelorMittal and Director of Operational Risk at Tereos.

He developed a unique approach to risk assessment and including the prioritization of investments based on vulnerability. 

Adrian Clements has over 30 years global experience in risk management ranging from Reinsurance, captive structuring, through project risk management in semiconductor, steel and mining operations.

Within ArcelorMittal he was on the investment allocation committee for capex assessing risks and value creation for major projects.

Together with mining experts and consulting houses he initiated a vulnerability analysis method for assessing mining risks and their mitigation priority and initiated an international think tank to change the way mining exposures could be quantified.

He worked many years with General Re developing ART, captive solutions and other financial risk transfer solutions for major international players.

During his early years he specialised in loss prevention in chemical, petrochemical and refining businesses across the globe.

He has written many articles, given key speeches to global audiences and has been awarded with European risk manager and Global risk manager titles.

Currently on the board of ERMINe, an international network of senior risk managers, advisory board of Risk Leadership network and ABS Group.

He is President of AT-IPIC, advising boards and risk managers on being comfortable with uncertainty.
